On March 20, 2017 a new group of 8th grade students spent some valuable time during their health class helping out in their community. These students were the second group this school year to help stock the shelves and the coolers at the TEEG Food Pantry.
Grade 6 Health
In December Grade 6 health students spent some time learning about what should go into a genera first aid kit. Each student assembled their own kit with treatment information, bandages, gauze, tape, scissors, instant ice packs and treatment ointments. Eighteen first aid kits were donated to the TEEG Food Pantry.
Grade 7 A group of 7th grade health students helped put in a garden outside of the health classroom. About 19 students planted starter seeds for vegetables and flowers in small containers in the classroom. While we waited for the seeds to grow several students tilled the soil , preparing it for planting. The seeds were planted in mid May. A special thanks to Heather from Maplewood Farm for her guidance with this project. Our plan is to donate the produce and flowers to two community groups. We have plenty of watering going on, we just need some sun!!
